Stunning 1920s dress by Parisian couture house Reneé. Though mostly obscure now, in her day, Reneé graced the pages of fashion magazines alongside heavy hitters like Chanel, Patou, and Lanvin. This beautiful dress is made of gold metal lace (smells delicious!) with a large gold lamé panel down the middle, and silk velvet accents. It had a pink silk lining but unfortunately, it spent its later years in Florida, which caused most of that to deteriorate. The lamé panels were splitting as well, so my seamstress used the strong parts of the pink silk to back them. She also restored the label, which had begun to shred, and made some repairs to the lace. This piece can now be worn with care, but is probably more of a collectors item. Price reflects this! In the 1920s, this piece would have sold for several thousand dollars!
