Stunning 1940s embroidered dress! The label reads Carol, Av. Juarez 83, Hecho en Mexico. I couldn’t find anything about the brand Carol, and there are several cities in Mexico with an Avenida Juarez. But my best guess is that this originated on Avenida Juarez in Mexico City. This boulevard, lined with boutiques and ritzy hotels, was a popular destination from the 1940s-60s.

FLAWS: there are some lightened areas — looks like maybe iron shine? — on the front of the skirt. They aren’t terribly noticeable if you aren’t looking for them.
