This 1940s blouse is so rare and unusual! It’s made from a 1943 US military parachute. I was only able to find a couple other examples of camo parachute garments — they’re always plain white. The style of the blouse is quite unique too. It has the quintessentially 1940s puffed sleeves and smocked shoulders. But the blousy center panel has almost an edwardian pigeon breast look.  I actually got a couple dresses from this estate that seemed edwardian at first glance but upon closer inspection I realized that they were 1940s length and had 40s talon zippers. My best guess is that an older woman made all of these pieces in the 1940s. Perhaps she was the mother of a GI and made this blouse when he returned home. In any case, it’s an incredible piece of fashion history and Americana! You’ll never see another!

BEST FIT: L
BUST: up to 50” (meant to be a bit blousy though)

WAIST: 52”

SHOULDER: 16.5”

LENGTH: 20”

FLAWS: lightened spots on mesh part. I hid the worst one by re-ironing the pleats but you might be able to dye it
